Wellington's eastern gateway
The Cobham Drive walking and biking improvements along the seaward side of Cobham Drive are part of our plan to turn this coastal recreation area into an eastern gateway for Wellington.
Wellington’s population is growing, and more people are moving through our city than ever before. Over the next 10 years and beyond, Wellington City Council will work with the New Zealand Transport Agency and Government to deliver a cycle network throughout Wellington.
Complete: bike lanes on both sides of the road The bike lanes provide a connection with Evans Bay Parade, Te Whiti Street, and to Newtown via Crawford Road.
Rongotai Road (town centre) is the section between the Crawford Road intersection and Onepu Road.
Three options for this section of Rongotai Road were put forward for community feedback in September 2017.
