Lower Wilson Street is now part of the Newtown Connections project - have your say on possible route options for Berhampore, Newtown and Mt Cook. Councillors had previously agreed at a meeting in March 2018 not to proceed with the contra-flow bike lane on the one-way section of Wilson Street until it could be included in the Newtown Connections project.
Sharrows will be marked on part of Coromandel Street and the two-way sections of Wilson Street. This route is part of the biking connection between Newtown and Kilbirnie.

Sharrows will be marked on the rest of Wilson Street and part of Coromandel Street.

The route on lower Wilson Street (the one-way section) is now part of the Newtown Connections project. If a contra-flow lane is developed, it would provide a good biking connection between Newtown and Kilbirnie. The design proposed earlier in 2018 would be appropriate for this relatively quiet one-way street with less traffic and low vehicle speeds.
The following impacts were proposed as part of the Kilbirnie Connections project consulted on in early 2018.
